The FDA recently approved Endo Aesthetics’ injectable called “collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes,” aka “QWO,” designed to treat moderate to severe cases of cellulite. QWO releases fibrous septae enzymatically and targets types 1 and 3 collagens to eliminate skin tethering and cellulite dimples in the affected area.
What is the procedure like?
- The patient’s skin is marked by the doctor for QWO injection placement and then QWO is administered to the patient’s affected areas.

Multiple treatments may be required. QWO treatment injections will be administered 21 days apart with a total of three treatment sessions. Each treatment session takes around 10-15 minutes.
Typically our patients see improvement to their cellulite at about 3 weeks after treatment with continuous improvement as collagen remodeling continues. Three treatments have been shown to be necessary to achieve the best results.
